I think that you may have missed the point. In an election, when you are in the lead, it is a bad idea to shake things up too much. If you are coming in second, that's when you want to shake things up.

Recent polls indicate that this strategy is working for Obama, whereas McCain's attempt to 'shake the stick about' have only landed him in hot water.

Given enough rope, McCain seems perfectly able to hang himself without any help from Obama. On the other hand, Obama's strategy has yielded results with a delightful economy of movement, and does little or nothing to harm his own campaign. :o)

I'll second the good Dr's opinion. Obama appears to be approaching an 8-10 point lead in several polls. Let McCain look angry and erratic.

I agree with previous comments.

But again, I wish he was more forceful, but Obama's just not a knife-fighter.

You know how they say that republicans are good at running campaigns and bad at running the country?

Of course, that doesn't seem to be the case this year, as even Karl Rove has criticized McCain for employing low blows (mind-boggling, really).

Nonetheless, I do hold hope that undecided voters will believe that Obama's even temper and calm is what you want in a president, if not in a candidate.
