I can see the corner up ahead

Four years ago this was the video that moved me most before the election. Still, its basis was in fear--our fear of what the republicans would do with four more years in power. Of course, most of those fears have come true.

This year is different. There's been mudslinging and our democratic candidates have been guilty of some really poorly calculated statements.

Still there's this. This video says maybe there's hope. Maybe we can change our country.

Yes.
We.
Can.

There you have it. I am happy to announce that Barack Obama has my full support.

Yay! Michelle Obama was on CSPAN today with Vice President Oprah, and after Michelle's stump speech (which was great!) Govenor Schwarzenegger's wife Maria Shriver came out and pledged her support for Obama as well. This is like one day after Ah-Nald endorsed McCain.

And people say there is nothing good on television!

Jess,
Thanks for this post. I was for Kucinich, then Edwards, and then I was simply against Senator Clinton. I love your enthusiasm. It is something I've not heard for about 8 years.

fran, you're too cynical. I'm the same way. Clinton did some good, some bad, but never put the boot down - yes, before anyone pipes up about not having votes and this, that and the other thing, I know. I live here too and know most people are idiots and the media is a tool of corporations - but if we have majorities in both houses AND the White House, then some changes better happen. I'm with Digby on this.

Where is Miers? Where is Rove? You can't just move on and heal. Yeah, the war criminals themselves won't see jail time, but you know what? Others can. If nothing happens, then crime does indeed pay. And it'll happen again. Nixon didn't prevent Reagan, Reagan didn't prevent Bush. Let's not have Bush not prevent the next disaster.

And no, Obama lovers, I'm not ragging on Obama. I'm ragging on the process. In America, it sucks.

Things are so, so SCREWED UP, we need someone who's been around the Washington wheel. And it ain't gonna be McCain.

A week or two ago voices on this site claimed the Republican party was a divisive mess on the edge of collapse.

Now it looks like the Democrats are confused, lost and unsure which way to turn.

Who's ahead? Hillary or Barack?

The white woman or the black man?

Each day it appears Hillary is losing some ground. Each day Barack seems more and more like a demogogue, a manipulator of feelings.

Both offer government solutions for every problem. But most of the problems they hope to solve resulted from government solutions to earlier troubles. Is there a lesson in that?
